Systems rejects Chico’s P25K

Daniel Chico Dance Nare and his current club, Security Systems have agreed to disagree as far his wage demands are concerned hence the pantsula styled gaffer will exit the Gabriel Nkgetse inspired club in less than four months’ time.

A protracted negotiation which lasted for two weeks could not help the two parties to reach a common ground. The outspoken and nomadic coach has four months left on his contract and is said to be disappointed that talks with the club management collapsed at the eleventh hour.

This happens at a time when the coach was expected to clinch his major silverware as the head coach.Sources very close to negotiating table told this publication that Systems turned down Nare’s contract demands of which he wanted a salary of over P25 000 per month.  Reports suggest that the club was willing to pay Chico P21 000 a month, a figure Nare rebuffed. It is said all along, the club has been paying the coach less than P20 000 despite the remarkable turn around the club has experienced under his watch.

The deadlock therefore puts Chico Nare back in the market therefore a host of clubs may want him to exhibit on their touchlines next season. He is possibly leaving the club having competed fairly well with premier league big guns in the mould of Township Rollers, Orapa United and Jwaneng Galaxy. Systems went into Christmas break perched at the log summit having claimed a massive three points from defending champions, Rollers.

It is a feat the club has not fathomed, and to many it was inconceivable. Systems are currently third on the log with 36 points, one shy away from log leaders Jwaneng Galaxy and Orapa United. It is unimaginable for a club categorized as a small team with no established support base.It is now rumored that the coach is anxiously monitoring Gaborone United‘s coaching situation where Philemon Makhwengwe is serving suspension.

It is highly likely that Nare will land the top post as soon as Makhwengwe departs.Nare refused altogether to comment about information linking him to GU job. He said he has a contract with Systems and it is where his bread is buttered.“I am not in a position to talk about rumors, I am still an employee of Security Systems and I can only talk about my club because it is where my heart is at the moment,” he said.

GU sees Nare as a highly rated tactician who can also transform their pot of gold into silverware. It is said Nicholas Zakhem has begun to give the GU coaching job the seriousness it deserves hence the possible recruitment of the local gaffer.Sources point out that GU would want Nare to command a competitive salary scale but any other change will be effected if need arises.

While GU is resolute on its insistency that nobody is crossing their mind permanently in supplanting Makhwengwe, this publication learns that the Gaborone giants will publicly address the issue once Makhwengwe’s disciplinary issues are dealt with.A key consideration at the Zakhem driven project will be a possible public backlash should they agree with Nare who has also coached Orapa United, Miscellaneous and Extension Gunners before. This is primarily the case because it is not clear that he will replicate what he did at Systems.

Meanwhile, Police XI, Morupule Wanderers and even Township Rollers are monitoring Nare’s situation.
