YAMAs nominate Han-C rejection as Song of the year

The annual Yarona FM Music Awards (YAMA) make their grand return this year and this time around they are anticipating a greater turn up.

The glitz and glamor event announced 2020 nominees with Han-C’s rejection song, released in 2018, as one of the songs nominated for Song of the year. The 6th edition is slated for April 25 under the theme, ‘Fabulous 20’ at University of Botswana Sport Arena.

“This time around the YAMAS are back with a number of interesting surprises which will be unveiled during the awards ceremony. The YAMAS team is working tirelessly to make sure that this year’s event will be one to remember, you will notice that it will be different from the previous events. The YAMAS brand has a new feel and the packaging is fantastic,” said Yarona FM Marketing Manager Kutlwano Monnamoncho.

Monnamoncho further stated that the music showcase’s aim has always been to recognize, empower and honour local artists for the role they play. “A number of artists were selected as nominees in various categories, the selection of these nominees was not an easy one because the competition was tight.

Our selectors where looking at various factors such as the quality of music, chart rankings, online streams and talent to mention just a few”.It’s a tough competition for the nominees. One competitive category is the best newcomer which has the likes of Jordard Moozy, Khoisan, Ms Abbey, Stretch and Wndr. Winners in every category will be selected through a mobile voting system.
