Lizibo’s single targets Valentine Day

It is the little things that count in relationships, or so thinks Afro-pop sensation Lizibo Glen Simon. The crooner’s next single, entitled “Show You Off” will debut on 9 February, right on time for Valentine’s Day on various radio stations and on national TV that evening.

The song, he says, encourages lovers to do the small things that matter in relationships, like showing each other off. Since last year, the singer has for impressed various love messages to his many fans during the ‘month of love.’ Last year, he serenaded fans at Stanbic Molapo Piazza, launching his anticipated 8-track album Malebeswa. In an interview with WeekendLife, he explained that the song was inspired by his noticing that most couples rarely brag about each other, although this may please the other partner who is being shown off.

Further, he challenged women to show men how it is done since he realized that women are the ones who take the lead when it comes to expressing their feelings for their partners. “I always just thought there is lack of show off attitude between lovers, the culture is always to be reserved and always be private about your relationship but this doesn’t mean you cannot show off.  It is just the thought of, if I am going to be showed off by my lady how much would it mean to me as a guy. Even if I am spinning it off and giving it to the ladies, I believe ladies can do it better. I was just looking at the inability of lovers to show off their love,” he explained.

Although the idea may not be fascinate other people, he advised that couples should make it a point that they make their partners feel loved every day and every month of the year, with the little things that count. He admits to celebrating valentines but only started doing so when he was of age. “I have been celebrating valentine’s day when I was of age because I needed to show her off. I felt to motivate other guys to do the same thing. Even though I decided to challenge the ladies with this message, it’s only that I believe ladies can do it better,” he said.

The single is from an upcoming album, he is still working on. He said he decided to put it in his album after attending a wedding where the couple decided to make it their theme song in their lifetime promise. He said that the song is a remix by him produced by Thsepo Lesole. He was inspired to remix it after he heard it at a wedding where the couple used it to pledge to each other how they would show each other off. All radio stations will premiere the single on 9 February and he will also perform it live on Flava Dome that same evening.
