Notwane’s premiership plan

Notwane football club is preparing for a completely different BTC Premiership compared to the 2013/2014 season in which it relegated. The team, after bouncing back to the elite league is taking no chances and already has sights on quality players to add to their fold.

While it is still a boardroom matter, carefully handled not to alert competitors, sources from the Notwane Club House paint a picture of a team readying for a tougher season. “When we relegated teams like Orapa and Jwaneng were not as formidable as they are now. We have Security Systems, Township Rollers who have financial muscle so we should be able to compete with those because the dynamics have changed,” observed a source from the team.

Sechaba has ambitios plans to bring back former players such as Dirang Moloi, Isaac Paeye, Lesego Lubinda and Letumile Molebatsi. Further the team is in talks with a South African Striker who is also linked with Township Rollers to beef up the front line. The team is looking for another goalkeeper to partner with Michael Pepukani at the goal post. Those in the know highlight that the technical team will remain unchanged.

Already some players are not in Pio Paul’s books building up to next season. Israel Tsheko, Ishmael Amponsah and defender Ronald Selemane might bite the dust when the team enters the elite league. The impending decision already has tongues wagging, and people are especially complaining about Tsheko who scored six goals and Selemane who netted two important goals.

“The coach insists on discipline and the refusal by Selemane to abide by the team’s decision to put on the short pants going to the last game against Lesirane has irked him such that he believes he might be a trouble maker in the team despite being a quality player. As for Tsheko, he is too playful for the coach’s liking and as the team enter a new zone there is not time to tolerate this,” said a Notwane source.

All the while it is said Amponsah could be safe as the coach has faith in his skills. Coach Paul is still doubtful despite the team top brass pleading with him to remain with them in the coming season. “I have three serious offers I can’t say anything much about them though,” Pio had said. Uniao Flamingo Santos, Prisons XI and Extension Gunners are said to be courting him.
