IDM partners with Progressive Institute on Career Elevation Summit

Institute of Development Management (IDM) has announced its decision to partner with Progressive Institute (PI) for the 2018 and 2019 Career Elevation Summits. IDM Regional Director, Richard Malikongwa revealed at a media briefing recently that the summit is a major highlight in the human resource sphere in Botswana and around the world, bringing together great minds to impart knowledge on young and emerging leaders.

“Through this forum, IDM and Progressive Institute endeavour to cultivate the ground for information and experience sharing, at the same time igniting discussions and formulating strong and formidable networks. This collaboration will help us create an uncontested market share and provide us abundant differentiation as we stand to find grip and effectively position our brands as thought-leaders in the market,” said Malikongwa, who further indicated the strong local and regional presence of IDM.

He reaffirmed IDM mandate as spelt out by the shareholders, of being the preferred service provider in Botswana, Lesotho and Eswatini on matters pertaining to education, training, consultancy and research, all of which signify their relevance in the three countries. Malikongwa says through their impressive footprint, which recently saw their significant expansion in the northern part of Botswana, IDM continues to produce unmatched talent well sought-after by institutions of regional and international repute.

He lamented that this year’s summit, which will have a prelude event to intimately engage stakeholders will be delivered under a thought-provoking and revolutionary theme: Building a Thriving Career in a Disruptive World of Work. The prelude event will attract South Africa’s renowned lawyer and former Public Protector, Professor Thuli Madonsela who will share some thoughts on bold leadership.

“For Botswana and the rest of Africa to thrive in a disruptive world, professionals must be the cornerstone of the journey to influence change, paving the way towards an exciting future. And just who else should influence that change other than a trail blazing revolutionary leader?” Quizzed the Regional Director.

For his part, Mmoloki Mmolotsi, Chief Executive Officer of Progressive Institute said: “We are equally excited for the collaboration with IDM as an entity that has also consistently provided the much needed human capital for the governments of Botswana, Lesotho and Eswatini. Through its Center for Continuing Professional Development, IDM has proven to be the premier facilitator of executive development programmes, coupled with 44 years of experience in research and consultancy interventions.

This goes to show IDM’s commitment towards building a formidable workforce for the future. Throughout the three years of hosting this event, we continue to inspire executives from Botswana and beyond to come up with decisions that will help their organizations to grow and evolve. The Summit brings together the most influential business thinkers and doers around the globe.”
