Shah keeps close taps on Nare

Shah wants him as the next Rollers coach but Nare still contracted to Security Systems.

Daniel Chico Nare could still be the next Township Rollers head coach following a handful enquiries instituted by Jagdish Shah about his availability. WeekendSport establishes that Shah had wanted to employ Nare before finally agreeing to bring Frank Nuttall.

Locally, it is said that Nare is Shah’s favorite coach and has asked management to consider him.  But even when thinking about Nare, it is indicated that Shah-who is the President and chief investor of Rollers-entertained a second thought. He felt that he will be dwarfing Security Systems’ ambitions by employing him at this hour of the season. Systems is a club coached by Nare and is comfortably within the top 4 bracket after a round of 16 games. They have collected 34 points, equally with log leaders Orapa United. Nare’s contract is nearing expiry date but it remains to be seen if Systems will renew his stay or the allure of Rollers will prove too difficult to ignore.

Nare refused altogether to comment about information linking him to Rollers job. He said he has a contract with Systems and it is where his bread is buttered. “I am not in a position to talk about rumors, I am still an employee of Security Systems and I can only talk about my club because it is where my heart is at the moment,” he said. There is indeed a strong possibility that Nuttall can leave at the end of the season. While his future move hinges on grounds that he is very expensive to purchase. But whatever the case, Rollers are still motivated to pursue Nuttall to stay longer if he impresses. It was why they gave an option to renew, sources claim. On the other hand, Chico Nare is also seen as a highly rated tactician who can also transform Rollers season from a point of glory to another.

The Rollers investor is believed to be giving the Rollers coaching job the seriousness it deserves as the recruitment of Kavazovic, Nuttall and many others showed a measure of significance in traversing new territories. Sources point out that Rollers would want Nare to command a salary scale lower than that of Nuttall but any other changes can be effected if need arises. While Rollers is steadfast on its insistency that nobody is crossing their mind in permanently supplanting Tomas Trucha, this publication learns that the Gaborone giants will publicly address the issue once the season comes to an end.

A key consideration at the Jagdish Shah driven project will be a possible public backlash should they agree with Nare who also coached Orapa United, Miscellaneous and Extension Gunners before. This is primarily the case because it is not clear that he will replicate what Rollers coaches have done. It is in this regard that some within Rollers management would want the team to fight for Nuttall for him to stay despite over pouring concerns of his salary scale.
