Shah rings changes at Rollers

Publishing Date : 09 July, 2019

Township Rollers has official announced the arrival of Tomas Trucha as new head coach, with Zachariah Mudzadzi also returning to the club to take up his previous role as assistant coach. Trucha will be the new man who will propel the multi-million project of Jagdish Shah.

The 48-year-old Czech Republican gaffer who holds UEFA B and A PRO licenses has signed a one year performance based contract.  Trucha has been saddled with the task of defending the league championship; win the prestigious Top 8, FA Cup and lastly at least qualify for the CAF championship group stages. However, Trucha is no stranger to the local football scene as he had a short spell with diamond giants Orapa United last season after he replaced Zambia tactician Bongani Mafu before being unceremoniously stripped off his duties due to contractual issues.

Rollers also welcomed back Mudzadzi to their fold as assistant coach. Mudzadzi is returning to his old role, having sat on Rollers bench during Madinda Ndlovu era three years ago. In what seems to be turn of events, Township Rollers chief financier and also club President, Shah has also moved swiftly to forfeit the duties of the club Public Relation Officer (PRO) Phemperethe Pheto, who will now focus on the society affairs.

When addressing the media this week about latest development of the club, Shah said: “Sydney Magagane who is the General Manager will handle players and technical team affairs. If you need any information about the team, Sydney is the right man for you. Sometimes you ask information from the wrong guys and you might not be referred with correct information.”

Shah also announced the departure of their long time defender Obuile Ncenga who has spent nearly a decade at the club. Ncenga has worked with more than seven coaches at the Rollers. The club also indicated that Thato Bolwelweng and Ntesang Simanyana were also released by the club.

On foreign players, the league champions has released former KCCA defensive midfielder Ivan Ntenge who is set to be replaced by his fellow countrymen, hard tackling midfielder Ivan Moowa while the Congolese striker Bindu Wansididi Bibo will be replaced by Fabiana who was on loan at the Zambia league. Shah said they started their pre-season this past week on the 3rd July and they are set to welcome Kaizer chiefs on the 20th of July at the newly built 10 000 capacity stadium in Tlokweng.
